8-19-05 The Texacali Horns just finished work on a new batch of cues for this years season of the ABC series "According to Jim" starring Jim Belushi.

7-25-05 The Texacali Horns recently spent a couple of days in the studio with John Porter working on the new Los Lonely Boys record.

7-18-05 Played on the title track "Don't Come Knocking" for the new Sam Shephard movie of the same name. T Bone Burnett was the producer of the song he co-wrote with Bono, and Edge. Featurd vocalists were Bono and Andrea Coors.

2-11-05 We just got an advance copy of the new Solomon Burke CD "Make Do With What You Got". It's old school soul all the way. Our favorite drummer James Gadson lends his masters touch to all the tracks. It should be available around the first of March. Watch for it.

1-29-05 The Texacali Horns just returned from a week on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise with the Phantom Blues Band. We made a lot of new friends and got to jam with some old and new pals. We will soon be putting up some photos and a some more stories about our adventures at sea. Thanks to all those who purchased our CD and those who took the time to stop and say hello to us as we traveled on the ship.

1-19-05 We worked with our old pal Barry Goldberg on a Chicago blues project.

1-18-05 Darrell and Joe got to work in Capitol Records studio A with engineer Ed Cherney and eleven more of our favorite horn players where we recorded one of Darrell's big band arrangements for an episode of Jim Belushi's TV show "According to Jim".

11-8-04 The Texacali Horns began work with The Phantom Blues Band on a new CD. Work will continue over the next few months as schedules permit.

10-11-04 Darrell and Joe spent the day with producer Don Was putting horns on a new CD for legendary soul singer Solomon Burke.

The Texacali Horns just finished work on a new batch of cues for the ABC series "According to Jim" starring Jim Belushi. Jim's band, The Sacred Hearts, recorded some blues tracks and Joe and Darrell played solos over them. We'll see how they cut them up and use them as the season moves along.

Darrell News ...... Thirty five years ago I was playing trumpet with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends. We were booked on "The Festival Express", a private train which traveled west from Toronto To Calgary carrying the Band, The Greatful Dead, Janis Joplin, Delaney& Bonnie and many more. The music and the party on the train went on 24-7. Now thirty five years later the film is being released in selected theaters across the country . Check it out. Festival Express.
